Secret Blogs
A couple of friends have found my “secret” blog now. Of course, it’s not too secret if the domain is exactly your full name. But it wasn’t exactly a public blog launch with a fondue fountain, confetti, and those annoying noise-makers that you blow into and it rolls out that freaks out the dog when it smacks him in the face…
But I was thinking…if you really wanted to find somebody, or mess with somebody…you could create a secret blog by that person. open up the comments and see what happens. maybe post some things that make it seem like the person is a jerk - like fat kids in roller coasters or breakdancing midgets - and then let their friends find you. Or better yet, they’ll find you eventually - and you should get a reaction…one way or the other.
I think I might try this. Edward (to be linked in the future), I’m looking for you first - lets see how it works.

Why YouTube will prevail (Little Superstar)
If I had three wishes, I know one would be to have Little Superstar under my desk at work, and then when I push play on my old 1987 boom box he would pop & lock for me.
Mark Cuban is full of it
Most people are now fully aware that Mark Cuban isn’t too fond of YouTube.
“Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban led a $1.7 million investment in Red Swoosh in August”
Cuban says:
Take away all the copyrighted material and you take away most of Youtube’s traffic. Youtube turns into a hosting company with a limited video portal. Like any number of competitors out there that decided to follow copyright law.
like RedSwoosh perhaps?
This is guy with direct competing interests. He makes some decent points, but it’s fully self-serving. HE wants to control the online video market - albeit in a different way. And he’s complaining that YouTube is not playing fair because He’s upset because HE (redswoosh) is following copyright law so they (youtube) should too.
Just like whining to ther refs, right Mark?
3 other quick notes:
- Here is another of his posts that hints at his thoughts on this industry.
- He also owns 2929 Entertainment which is a production company - another area hurt(?) by the success of YouTube.
- Despite this post, I actually kind of like Mark Cuban. Anybody that called M. Night Shayamalan “stupid” in an interview isn’t all bad. His blog is a good read, and he does do some cool stuff.
Email of the Day: Richard Dean Anderson
Hi Darren,
I’ve been working my way through articles and photos to update the Archive and Galleries, so slowly I hope to be adding to both of these sections. In the meantime, I’ve made a few small additions this past weekend. You’ll find one new article so far in the Archive, as well as a few new Updates.
…
In addition, the VCR alerts for September have been updated. Past the Bleachers will be repeating on Lifetime Movie Network (this is different from “regular” Lifetime), and don’t forget RDA’s second appearance on Stargate Atlantis in the episode appropriately titled “The Return”, now scheduled for September 22nd.
As always, you’ll find the links on the What’s New page.
Thanks for visiting!

HUH? How’d she know I liked McGyver?? Kate, as long as you’re sending me unsolicited emails about RDA I’ll give you a really quick SEO hint - frames are not hip anymore. McGyver would be coding his site in CSS using nothing but notepad.exe and a toothpick.
Sometimes having a generic gmail address doesn’t pay off.
“school” = .edu ?
9 of the top 10 listings for “business school” are .edu
8 of the top 10 listings for “music school” are .edu or .org
8 of the top 10 listings for “nursing schools” are .edu
(but #1 isn’t. maybe take a look at what they’re doing if you’re playing in the education game) It’s owned by a local Seattle company based in Fremont. I don’t think I would necessarily want to be playing in those serps, it’s pretty clear you’re at some disadvantage if you’re a .com. But like Sean Astin, it just takes a little persistance and you too can be humming that Rudy theme in your head the rest of the day. Some great art gets walked all over
