A Mutiny Survey

TheWife has a pretty rough 1st-2nd grade classroom this year. Now, Nora always likes the trouble-makers. I sometimes think she only has a couple kids in her class because those are the only names I hear until the end of a semester when I “get” to help her do the grading. Then I see that she is only most interested in the trouble-makers, which does makes sense to some extent.

But tonight she was talking about how one of her students likes to take a “Mutiny Survey.” You don’t see those two words together too often and I wanted to keep it for posterity. A mutiny survey is exactly as you’d expect:

Teacher: “Class, please do [this]”
Potential Mutiny Leader: “Who cares? Does anybody care? Raise your hand if you care.” (potential Mutiny Leader has his own hand in the air and is looking around frantically for minions)

Luckily most of the other students don’t participate in this public demonstration of democracy (speaking of which - reminder to self…Steve the Rat is worthy of a post!) and they just stare at the potential 1st grade coup leader with confusion.

Anyway…mutiny survey…you heard it here first.
