How to know your friend is an SEO

You know your friend could be an SEO if:

  1. They have a work uniform consists of a bathrobe
  2. They have a nickname that would sound good on a helmet in Top Gun
  3. They know what Mesothelioma is
  4. You don’t know what he does, but when he tries to explain it, you hear the word “google” a lot. Sometimes in awe and sometimes in disgust.
  5. Having them as an overnight guest, you get manually spammed

Berkun Spam & Marketing 101

This is a great example of how small businesses think of search.

Scott Berkun’s brother has a problem:

“Recently his competitors began using various search engine manipulation techniques: fake pages, link farms, link doorways, all sorts of things to deceive search engines.”

So Scott is asking his readers to link to his brother’s site - etoner.com.
